Whispir – Office Fitout

Whispir engaged Agero for an office fitout that would transform their traditional 9-5 office space into an environment that promotes communication and connectivity – two elements which Whispir lives and breathes on.

Rewiring for Connectivity and Communication

Instead of a sea of desks and workstations, the workspace design focuses on creating human connection. Various team hub spaces were created to suit different employee working styles and the space could be transformed to suit Whispir’s business needs.

Different team hub spaces include:
A. Sit/stand individual focus stations with social distancing
B. Team worktables / discussion zones with mobile presentation walls
C. Communal work tables
D. Localised informal discussion spaces with acoustic curtains
E. Tiered seating / breakout spaces
F. Acoustically treated meeting rooms for team meetings
G. Acoustically treated quiet rooms for individual focused work
H. A feature bar

Reimagining Social Distancing

Whispir’s office fitout was designed with inbuilt social distancing using clever spacing, plants and shelving systems made of perspex screens to achieve organic and invisible social distancing.

Cheers to an Office Bar

Connecting and bringing people together is at the core of what Whispir does and having a bar would not only showcase their brand and culture but also boost teamwork and forge stronger client relationships. The employees are loving their new office bar.

Ready to Relocate

With only two and a half years left on their lease, the office fitout design needed flexibility should Whispir wish to relocated to another building at the conclusion of their lease. The modular design ensures the space can be reconfigured during the lease to accommodate future workplace needs i.e. increased days in the office or more hires. Even the bar – the central pillar of Whispir’s office – is relocatable. Plus, the modularity of the design minimises capex now, for the remainder of the occupation, and when it comes time to make good.

Sustainability in Mind

No major changes were made to the existing room layout to minimise waste and demolition. All existing furniture was reused or repurposed to give it new life. Unwanted office furniture and equipment found new homes through Agero’s sister business, Sustainable Stripout. This resulted in 21m3 of waste diverted away from landfill. All proceeds from this resource recovery activity was donated to Don Bosco Youth Centre.
