Commercial law experts, Robert James Lawyers (RJL) were relocating office amidst the pandemic. For RJL, their clients are at the heart of everything they do and their new office fitout needed to reflect this.
The biggest feature of the fitout is the spacious reception area built from the ground up. Glass partitions open and divide the space, providing natural light and great city views for an inviting impression as clients step in. The result is professional and sleek, balancing traditional corporate with effortless elegance.
As the previous tenant was another law firm, we reused and adapted the existing fitout, minimising waste and maximising cost savings for RJL.
THE CHALLENGE OF COVID-19 AND THE OFFICE RELOCATION
COVID-19 presented both a challenge and an opportunity. Moving to another location gave RJL the chance to rethink their office design and how it can boost productivity and enhance the client experience. Downsizing to a smaller office also helped to reduce real estate costs.
With most of the staff working from home, there would be minimal disruptions to operations during the relocation. But this also proved to be a challenge for General Manager Karen Glover, who needed to coordinate access for fitout works. “Trying to get the tradesman in here was certainly a challenge as you could only have a certain amount in here at one time. I worked very closely with Marc, the Project Manager – he was fantastic. I didn’t have to hardly do anything. I just had to pick up the phone, give him a call and he would deal with everyone,” she said.
Although the pandemic caused supply chain disruptions and delays, we were able to find alternative supplies and completed the fitout in time for RJL to move in once restrictions eased.
